Raising the Timber Frame

In two days, the timber framing workshop crew, with the help of Cliff’s crane on the bed of a classic 1955 Mack truck, assembled what can only be described as a beautiful piece of wood sculpture. It was simply stunning when I drove to the job site the morning after the frame was raised and saw the timber frame as I crested the hill. The bones of our house were ready for the next phase. The posts were set at the close of the first day.

The topping out ceremony (the beer was saved for the next week with the full EcoNest workshop crew).

Robert Laporte, the maestro who orchestrated this magnificent effort.

And we get to live inside this wonderful piece of artwork!

The last two pictures were courtesy of Pete Kusov who participated in the timber framing workshop.
